Champlain Valley Open 2026

The Champlain Valley Open Martial Arts Tournament will be held on September 12, 2026 at the University Mall in South Burlington, VT (same venue as last year). 

Grappling and board breaking at 8:00 AM.  Doors open at 7:30 AM. Preregistration is required for grappling and fusion fighting.  Preregistration ends on 9/8/2026.  If you don't preregister you will not be allowed to grapple or fusion fight. 

Power breaking will be ongoing from 8 AM to 12.  If you do not complete your break by 12 you will not be considered in the final determination of winners.  Some boards will be available at the tournament.  Divisions will be Men upper extremity, women upper extremity, Kids upper extremity, Men lower extremity, women lower extremity and Kids lower extremity. Upper extremity includes hand, elbow. Lower extremity would be kicks. Whoever breaks the most boards in their division is the winner.  Final board count considers the number set up versus the number actually broken.  If you set up 8 and break 8 then it is 100% complete.  If you set up 10 and break 8 that is 80% complete.  The person who did 8 of 8 wins!

Opening Ceremonies will be at 9:15 with black belt meeting at 9:00.  We will complete grappling and board breaking after opening ceremonies if necessary. Regular divisions including weapons start after opening ceremonies.  If there are competitors in earlier divisions but have not finished competing, then the division will be held until that competitor finishes. For example if they are competing in weapons but their form division is called, the form division will be held until they finish in weapons.
